For many patients on long-term medication we issue repeat prescription slips on the counterfoil of prescriptions so that patients can get regular supplies of medication without needing to see the doctor each time.
Patients may request repeat prescriptions using any of the following methods:-
- By telephone - If you have been granted permission from the surgery you may order your prescription medications over the telephone after 10:30am. Otherwise please request repeat prescriptions online, by post or in person as below:
- Online - Via the link at the top of this page (when registered for Patient Access).
- By post - You may post us the repeat prescription counterfoil mentioned above. Please feel free to enclose a stamped addressed envelope for your repeat prescription to be posted back to you.
- In person - You can complete your repeat prescription counterfoil and post in the box in the waiting room.
Download a Repeat Medication Request Form - Please kindly print, complete and bring up to the surgery placing in our red Repeat Prescriptions box located in the waiting area of reception.
Prescriptions can be collected from the surgery 48 hours (two working days) after being requested. Alternatively if you have specified at the time of ordering your repeat prescription, your dispensed medication will be available at your nominated Pharmacy 72 hours (three working days) after being requested.
Please note: prescriptions must be collected from the surgery by a responsible adult.
Electronic Prescription Service
The Practice can now offer Electronic Prescribing, please speak to the team at your preferred Pharmacy for further information or ask a member of staff at the Surgery.
Pharmacist
Your local pharmacist (sometimes called chemists) can offer free professional advice and you don’t need an appointment. The local pharmacist can help you with coughs and colds, aches and pains, along with advice about prescribed and over-the-counter medicines.
Some pharmacies also have longer opening hours on evenings and weekends.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked yearly to see a doctor, nurse practitioner, practice nurse or to speak with our in-house pharmacist at least once a year to review these regular medications.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
